What the code means
H2O means the dishwasher isn't getting enough water, or none at all, during the timed fill.
GE says it often shows up the first time a dishwasher runs, after plumbing work, or after the water supply was turned off.
Before you start
- Turn the dishwasher off before you reach under the sink or check the hoses.
What the manufacturer says to check
- Make sure the hot water valve under the sink nearest the dishwasher is turned all the way on.
- Check that the dishwasher is level.
- Clear the code: choose a different cycle option, then set it back to the one you want.
- If the code shows on cycles other than 1-Hour Wash, check that the inlet water hose isn't kinked.
Stop and call for service
Stop and call for service if any of these happen.
- The code shows up on the 1-Hour Wash cycle and no other. GE says to schedule service; you can still run the other cycles until then.
- The code continues after you have confirmed the house has enough water supply and pressure, the valve is fully open and the dishwasher is level. GE recommends a service call.
